Oh, the places you'll go!

We just got back from a very awesome road trip! We put 2,700 miles on the truck! We drove up to Seattle and had a wonderful time with my husband's family. They are a group of fun, sweet and loud folks! Grandpa turned 90 in July so our main reason for the trip was to take a family portrait, reunion style!

We did so much fun stuff... got coffee almost every morning at U Village, spent some quality time in Ferndale with the Grandparents, grabbed dinner with the Abers family, hung out with Ma-Ke in Bellevue, got dinner at Green Lake and Ben took his first boat ride! The weather was BEAUTIFUL! Which almost tricked me into dreaming of what it would be like to live there. Then it rained the last two days so I snapped back to reality.

One evening we had a BBQ where Bennett met Boscoe and Ron, which was amazing. They are truly wonderful people. That night we also got to spend some time with Cody's favorite cousin, her son and her parents. It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back! Here are a few special moments....

In August Ben learned the power of his voice. He is slowly a bit more whiney and cries more, mostly to let us know he's tired or upset. When he's hungry, he sucks on his fingers. It's getting tougher to give him the infant Zantac drops because he has learned to spit it out. Before, he'd make a sour face and swallow it. He honestly has brought so much joy to our lives, it's amazing.

One of my favorite things is that he makes strangers smile. Women love to stop me and coo at him and he always smiles. It is so sweet! He also lets anyone hold him. We were super happy he was good when Grandpa and Grandma held him. Little man, thank you for everything you have added to our lives. You are amazing and we love you so so much!
